Thank you for your interest in this study of the Workplace and Chronic Illness. Any adult who works at least 30 hours per week may participate. You do NOT need to have chronic illness to participate, although if you do you may complete a survey designed for workers with chronic illness. Both perspectives are important to this study. Both links are at the bottom of this page.
Some important information about the study:
This survey is completely anonymous. You will not be asked to provide any identifying information. There will be no way to link your responses back to you, so you should feel free to respond candidly. (However, if your workplace monitors your internet usage, you may choose to take this survey from your home computer.)
Participation in this study is voluntary. You may choose to skip any questions you do not want to answer. You also may also terminate your participation at any time without consequences or penalties of any kind. If you decide during the study that you no longer want to participate, simply close your Internet browser and your responses will not be recorded.
The entire survey will take about 15 minutes to complete. As a thank-you for your time, you will be given the opportunity to enter to win an online gift certificate to Amazon.com at the end of the survey.
Your participation will help advance research on chronic illness in the workplace. Very little research examines issues for workers with chronic illness. I hope to publish the findings of this study in order to advance people’s awareness of these issues.
This study was approved by the University of Connecticut Institutional Review Board (IRB), a group of professionals who monitor studies to protect the rights of participants.
